Throughout 2023, the open source community expressed concerns regarding the potential ramifications of the proposed European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) on both open source software and Europe's innovation economy.

The concerns of the community have been listened to by the policymakers, and the CRA now largely excludes the open source community from its scope. However, the CRA is a significant new regulatory regime for the software industry and its impacts will be felt by members and adopters of our open source projects.
