How Serialization Enhanced Viewer Experience in Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul

By TPL Programs

Part of the skillful writing that renders these streaming series so irresistible and dynamic lies in their use of the episodic, serialized form, a method that goes back to Dickens. This talk is less concerned with the "content" of the narrative than with the envelope of structuring surrounding it, offering a way to further appreciate the finesse of such productions.

This event is presented by Dennis Duffy, retired professor of English from the University of Toronto. The event is also part of Toronto Public Library's Great Books Lecture Series, made possible through a gift from the Ann Thoburn Fund.
