The musicians of the JazzMN Quintet are all members of the JazzMN Orchestra, the Twin Cities premier professional jazz ensemble. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the full orchestra has not been able to perform a live concert for over a year. But JazzMN is still here and plans to return once it is safe to do so.

Meanwhile, the JazzMN Quintet will present a historical view of various artists that employed this instrumentation beginning with its infancy  in the swing era, into its standardization in bebop, through its heyday of the hard bop era, and more modern explorations in the 1960s and beyond.

The presentation will be moderated by JC Sanford, JazzMN Orchestra's Artistic Director.
