Dementia-related illnesses affect individuals of all backgrounds; however, some ethnic groups are disproportionately impacted, including the Latino community. This disparity for the Latino community exists both in the United States as well in Latin American and Caribbean countries. This episode will describe:

  • Social determinants and how they influence a person's risk;
  • Similarities and differences in the social determinants for Latinos in the US and those in other countries;
  • Steps being taken to address social determinants impacting Latinos in the US and abroad;
  • Lifestyle choices individuals in the Latino community can take to reduce their risk.
