Porter Square Books and Grub Street are thrilled to welcome Jeanne Blasberg for the celebration of her latest novel Daughter of a Promise! Author Katherine A. Sherbrooke will join Blasberg in conversation, and the author talk will be followed by a signing line. This event will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 7pm at Porter Square Books: Boston Edition (50 Liberty Drive, Boston, MA 02210).

Days after graduation, Betsabé Ruiz's life in New York is turning out to be nothing less than cinematic. Although her first job at a white-shoe, Wall Street investment bank is the opportunity of a lifetime, she is not prepared for the magnitude of wealth swirling about her, the long hours and close quarters that infuse her professional relationships with intimacy, nor an unexpected attraction to her boss. Jeanne Blasberg is an award-winning author and essayist. Her novel, The Nine (SWP 2019) was honored with the 2019 Foreword Indies Gold Award in Thriller & Suspense, and the Gold Medal and Juror’s Choice in the 2019 National Indie Excellence Awards. Her debut, Eden (SWP 2017), won the Benjamin Franklin Award for Best New Voice in Fiction and was a finalist for the Sarton Women’s Book Award for Historical Fiction. Jeanne co-chairs the board of the Boston Book Festival and serves on the Executive Committee of GrubStreet, one of the country’s preeminent creative writing centers. When not in New England, she splits her time between Park City, UT, and growing organic vegetables in Verona, WI.

Katherine A. Sherbrooke is the author of a memoir and three novels: the New York Times notable Leaving Coy’s Hill, which was a finalist for the Massachusetts Book Award; Fill the Sky, the winner of a 2017 Independent Press Award and finalist for the May Sarton Award for Contemporary Fiction, and her newest novel, The Hidden Life of Aster Kelly, selected by PopSugar as the #1 Historical Novel for 2023. Her work has also appeared in Cognoscenti and Zibby Magazine. She served as Chair of the Board of GrubStreet from 2013-2023.
