February Book Club presents Davon Loeb, author of The In-Betweens

By The Rumpus

Join us for an exclusive Rumpus Book Club conversation with Davon Loeb for his lyrical narrative The In-Betweens led by Rumpus Editor in Chief Alysia Li Ying Sawchyn.

About the February Book Club selection:
The In-Betweens tells the story of a biracial boy becoming a man, all the while trying to find himself, trying to come to terms with his white family, and trying to find his place in American society. A rich narrative in the tradition of Justin Torres’s We the Animals and Bryan Washington’s Memorial, Davon Loeb’s memoir is relevant to the country’s current climate and is part of the necessary rewrite of the nation’s narrative and identity.

Davon Loeb is the author of the memoir The In-Betweens (West Virginia University Press, 2023). He earned an MFA in creative writing from Rutgers University-Camden. Davon is an assistant features editor at The Rumpus. His work is featured at The Sun Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Joyland Magazine, The Rumpus, Catapult, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. Davon is represented by Eric Smith of P.S. Literary Agency. Besides writing, Davon is a high school English teacher, husband, and father living in New Jersey. He can be reached on Twitter at @LoebDavon.
