Gender Based Violence: Fight back with courage, information and resources
By Jacana Media
This year, Women’s Month highlighted the continued struggles that women and girls face in South Africa, especially where gender-based violence (GBV) is concerned. With many organisations and campaigns spearheading the fight against GBV, the statistics of women dying at the hands of their intimate partners continue to rise.
In our second Jacana Don’t Shut Up Conversation on GBV, Dr Sithembile Mbete will once again moderate a discussion that will focus on the resources and recourse available to victims of GBV and those who function as a support base. The panel will include Vanessa Govender, a survivor and the author of Beaten But Not Broken; lawyer Tshegofatso Raphuti, and the founder of the TEARS Foundation, Mara Glennie.
