Every EDR, SIEM, and ticketing platform you already own has shipped an AI module in the last two years. How many of those did you evaluate on purpose, versus ones that just showed up in a routine update?

If AI is supposed to let you run fewer tools with more capability, has your tool count gone down since you adopted it, or has it just grown a new AI-shaped category on top of everything else?

Every tool in your stack got approved for a reason at some point. How many of those reasons still apply, and how many are just habit?

What's driving the push to reduce your stack: genuine risk reduction, or a license renewal bill that finally got too big to ignore?

Employees are adopting AI tools on their own, outside procurement, faster than security can track. Is your reduced tech stack strategy accounting for the tools you didn't approve, or only the ones you did?

Who inside your organization loses influence, budget, or headcount when you consolidate onto fewer tools, and how much is that shaping the resistance to doing it?

Your tech stack isn't just tools you bought — it's the cloud provider, the identity provider, the model provider, and every SaaS integration underneath them. Which of those dependencies have you mapped, and which are you assuming are fine?

Reducing tools while increasing reliance on a handful of platform vendors — is that a smaller attack surface, or just a more concentrated one?
