Draw along with me as I share the techniques and tips I have used over the past 10 years producing over 400 architectural illustrations for practices.

I will be drawing in pen, coloured pencil on paper but you can use markers or draw digitally on an iPad or graphics tablet.

A little bit about me...

I’m Philip Buckingham and I am an architecturally trained illustrator with over 10 years industry experience.

I started the Draw Like An Architect project to offer the teaching I wish I had had during my architectural education. Freehand drawing is an invaluable skill whether you are presenting to a client, communicating to your colleague or trying to impress your tutor. However, it is overlooked at most architecture schools.

Based in London, I am a founding Director of 5HT, a multidisciplinary design agency. I am a member of the Society of Architectural Illustration and my work has been exhibited internationally with work featured in The Architectural Review, Architecture Today and the RIBA Journal.
