LIVESTREAM Online Naked Yoga with Jessa - Breath of Fire session 🔥
By thenudeblogger
Blessings Nude Yogis,
Start your Sunday off with some heat with this breathing and cleansing technique - the Breath of Fire 🔥 or more traditionally known as 'Kapalabhati'.
What is it?
- It is 1 of 6 yogic cleansing techniques knows as 'KRIYAS'
- It is used to cleanse the respiratory passage and channels
- It best done in the morning as it creates heat in the body (hence 'Breath of Fire')
- It is also beneficial to do this prior to other breath work/pranayama as the other breathwork may be more effective after cleansing the respiratory passage with Kapalabhati
- It is a strong breathing practice that can also be fast-paced (so a little bit of light-headedness can be normal as a result - but please stop if it is too much)
⚠️PLEASE AVOID IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING⚠️
- high blood pressure
- heart problems/issues
- spinal injury
- eye problems
- pregnant
- menstruating
Some of these benefits include:
- stimulates digestive system
- energises the body
- enhances the respiratory system
- relaxes the mind
- detoxes and purifies the body
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- yoga mat
- towel (optional)
- bolster (optional)
- tissues (to blow your nose with prior to the practice)
- water
TIPS for Kapalabhati:
- kapalabhati is done in and out of the nostrils
- ACTIVE exhalation, PASSIVE inhalation
- isolate the abdomen region so any movement is coming only from this area of the body (a common mistake is moving the other parts of the body like the arms and shoulders)
- start slow
- start by placing your hands on your belly to become familiar with the movements of the abdomen region during the exercise
- become familiar with the sensation and action before increasing the rapidity of the breath
- blow your nose prior to practicing!
Looking forward to getting hot with you all!
Namaste,
Jessa
