Metabolism involves biochemical processes that are essential to life and so can be at the heart of many clients’ health issues. Understanding genetic metabolic differences can unlock the reasons behind fatigue, weight gain, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular dysfunction, ageing and chronic diseases.

As well as developing an understanding of the key metabolic pathways, you will also learn how to use our new in-depth Metabolics DNA Report to inform your clinical practice and help you personalise protocols based on the unique metabolic needs of your clients. Use of real case studies will help you apply your knowledge to different health situations.

Appetite - leptin, ghrelin, melanocortin and appetite dysfunction.

Nutrient Sensing - availability of energy, adaptation, anabolic (mTOR) vs catabolic (AMPK) metabolism, and longevity genes.

Sugar Metabolism - glucose transport, conversion, insulin, aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.

Fat Metabolism - fatty acid uptake, beta oxidation, lipolysis, lipogenesis and ketogenesis.

Cholesterol synthesis, uptake and detoxification, bile formation.
