By National Army Museum
Dr Rob Johnson sheds light on the military risks and threats facing Nato today and the strategies needed to face them.
In an era when European states seek to de-escalate and avoid armed conflict, and where politicians fear the consequences of protected operations, does military strategy have any relevance?

Dr Rob Johnson is Director of the Changing Character of War Centre at the University of Oxford. He is the author of a number of books on military and strategic history, including The Great War in the Middle East and Military Strategy for the 21st Century.
