Why would a college list a $70,000 price tag and then hand your student a $40,000 "scholarship"?

In this first session of The Real Cost of College, Teege Mettille, a former college enrollment VP with more than 20 years in admissions, shows how colleges actually set their prices. His guest, Michael Hollis, CFP®, principal and financial planner at Tapestry FP, has never seen this data before. He'll react to it live, the same way most parents do.

• Why the sticker price is mostly for show

• How many "scholarships" work as discounts in disguise

• Why, once you adjust for inflation, what families actually pay has barely moved in 20 years, even as sticker prices climbed

On Nov 30, Michael returns with a practical plan for paying for college without debt.
