Join us for a discussion on navigating reciprocity in the psychedelics and plant medicine fields. Explore the application of ESG principles, Indigenous reciprocity, legal structures, non-extractive finance options, and access and benefit sharing. This comprehensive conversation will address legal and policy, financial and business, and cultural aspects, including reflections on how to advance diversity and inclusion in the psychedelic eco-system. This community forum promises important insights for building a responsible and equitable future. Speakers include Sean T. McAllister, an attorney specializing in regulatory and corporate law, member of Chacruna’s board of Directors; Julia Mande, co-founder of Common Field, an organization supporting collective healing through bridge-building; Marc Ross, founder and former executive director of Rock the Earth, a national environmental advocacy organization that collaborates with the music industry; and Jason Wiener, principal of the boutique law and business consulting practice and co-founder of Colorado Cooperative Developers.

Julia Mande is the Co-founder of Common Field, an organization supporting the collective ability to heal through bridge building. Julia is a facilitator of systemic change who works with mission-driven founders to develop and grow their organizations for meaningful impact. She has advanced movements in soil health, plant medicine, conscious leadership, and regenerative systems through stakeholder engagement, and systems design. She holds a degree in Organizational Sciences from George Washington University, and certifications in Regenerative Organizational Design, Systems Constellations, and Environmental Sustainability. Julia is a first-generation American, born in New York and raised in Zimbabwe, a daughter of emigrants from Morocco and the Jewish Diaspora.

Marc Ross over the course of a thirty-year career has served in impactful, leadership roles in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Since 2016, Marc has been consulting companies, most notably in the cannabis space, on matters surrounding Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) and Environmental, Social & Governance (“ESG”) principles. To that end, he has been helping companies mitigate risk, prepare for public reporting, and to build out “purposeful” brands, with an emphasis on strategic, integrated, and authentic community and employee engagement, corporate philanthropy, good governance policies, diversity & inclusion, and sustainability. Most recently, he served as Head of Impact and ESG at Vicente Sederberg and was the Director of Community Outreach for Harvest Health & Recreation. He is the Founder and former Executive Director of Rock the Earth, a national environmental advocacy organization that works closely with the music industry. Marc received his B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law.

Jason is the Principal of the boutique law and business consulting practice Jason Wiener|p.c., and co-founder of “Colorado Cooperative Developers”. Jason specializes in cooperative law, shared ownership models, cooperative finance, regenerative capital and financing strategies, sustainable economies law, teal lawyering, virtual outside general counsel, and worker-ownership. Jason leads the firms Healing Law practice.

Sean T. McAllister is an attorney specializing in the intersection of regulatory and corporate law, and also is an experienced commercial litigator. He has been a leader in the emerging industries of cannabis, hemp, and psychedelic medicines. Sean is licensed to practice law in Colorado and California. His work in psychedelics has included: Advised clients on what is allowed in cities that have decriminalized psychedelics; Advised clients looking to obtain a religious exemption from criminal law for the use of psychedelics under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act; Seeking DEA licensure for companies to manufacture Schedule I drugs lawfully in the United States; Steering committee member on Colorado’s Natural Medicine Health Act; Executive Officer of the Denver Psilocybin Mushroom Policy Review Panel, 2020; Chair of the Board of Directors for the Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines and member of Chacruna’s Council for the Protection of Sacred Plants.
