Rooted in Breatht: Finding Support, Flow, and Control

In my experience teaching, I often notice that many dancers are not breathing in a way that truly supports their movement. While there are moments in this dance form where we intentionally separate breath from movement, such as in detailed chest isolations, developing a strong relationship to the breath can create a foundation of ease, control, and fluidity.

This workshop invites you to reconnect with your breath as a source of support, grounding, and expression. We will begin with simple breath and movement exercises to build awareness and coordination, then gradually transition into more dynamic isolations and pattern-based sequences.

Throughout the class, you’ll be encouraged to explore your own creative and imaginative movement flow. moving in ways that feel intuitive and supportive for your body. Our goal is to cultivate a deeper sense of trust in the body, allowing breath to guide both precision and freedom in your dance.

Class goes live on Sunday May 3rd. Crowdcast will show the correct time for your location. The recording will be available immediately after class and accessible for 6 months.
