SELLING AT MARKETS: A PRACTICAL GUIDE with Sinead Koehler

By 91 Magazine

Join Sinead Koehler, founder of Crafty Fox Market, to discover the best ways to prepare for a makers market and how to successfully sell on the day.

Craft market, artisan market, makers market or small business sellers event - whatever you want to call them, markets are popping up everywhere, giving independent makers and sellers the opportunity to sell direct to customers without needing a retail space. And the best thing? People that visit these markets are there as they specifically love shopping small and from buying indie brands.
If you are a maker or designer though, and you haven't sold at markets before, it can be a daunting prospect. If you have, you'll know how much is involved - from planning how your stall will look, to ensuring you've got the right amount of stock to knowing how to actually 'sell'.
In this session, Sinead Koehler, founder of the successful Crafty Fox Market will cover a range of topics related to the market experience using examples from Crafty Fox Market traders to bring the content to life. She will guide you on how to make sure you are properly prepared and make the most of the experience, while not wasting any of your precious time.
This session is perfect both for those who haven't yet tried selling at in-person events and anyone whose done a few markets already but wants to learn how to improve on their approach.

The session will cover:
  • why taking part in markets is beneficial for your business
  • Finding the right events for your products and making the application
  • How to prepare -planning your stall, what to bring and how to promote in advance
  • Making the most of market day – tips for successful selling and a look at the wider benefits of markets beyond sales
