Staggered return: how to keep your students learning online
By We Are In Beta
This session is designed for
- Senior school leaders who are looking for a whole-school, online learning solution
- Middle leaders who are looking for online solutions for their departments
- Classroom teachers who are looking for a online solution for their own classes
The announcement on Wed 30th December that secondary schools will be closed to most students is going to be received in different ways.
There will be some relief given the current transmission levels but also some concern regarding what things will look like long term.
There will be logistical questions regarding what and how children will learn during their time out of school.
The Greenshaw Learning Trust have written and shared a curriculum which is free to use, can be accessed through a TV as well as a computer, and has high quality teacher instruction and activities.
This session will run through all you need in order to make the next two weeks as painless as possible. There's a good chance you'll find some other uses for it as part of the session as well.
Join us after the Andrew Marr show at 10am Sunday 3rd Jan.
In this session we will cover:
- The biggest logistical challenges presented by online learning and how they are solving them practically
- How middle leaders and classroom teachers can use the GLT online curriculum to ensure all students can continue learning undisrupted
- How Senior Leaders can use the GLT online curriculum to save their teams time and unnecessary stress under these new and ever changing pressures and uncertainty
- How teachers can use this resource to set online learning for pupils in their school
- How teachers and leaders can use the GLT online curriculum beyond lockdown
- The key lessons learned from mistakes made delivering online during lockdown and how they are addressing them this time around
All attendees will get full access to all of the video lessons, which are structured around a low stakes quiz, direct teacher instruction, student tasks/practice and a lesson review to provide simple feedback of the student’s knowledge and understanding.
