Tamara Payne: The Dead are Arising - The Life of Malcolm X
By TPLCulture
For nearly 30 years, Pulitzer-prize winning investigative journalist Les Payne set forward to unearth a complete retelling of the extraordinary life of Malcolm X. Based on over a hundred hours of interviews, The Dead Are Arising: The Life of Malcolm X is a glorious conjuring of one of the twentieth century's most politically relevant figures.
Tamara Payne, lead researcher and daughter to Les, took up the completion of this book upon the death of her father. The completed biography has been hailed by critics for its riveting work in affirming Malcolm X’s centrality to the Black American struggle and recently won the National Book award for non-fiction.
Join Tamara Payne, in conversation with journalist Huda Hassan, for an in-depth examination of The Dead Are Arising: The Life of Malcolm X.
