The UK pivot: The United States and international student enrolments

By The PIE

Is a US-UK pivot taking place? We’ll hear expert perspectives from the ground in China, India and the US to explore how British universities can meet urgent student needs through late-cycle admissions and January intakes.

You’ll also learn about the DET-UK Welcome Project, a new initiative promoting flexible UK universities that still have places open for Fall 2025 or January 2026.

Our panel includes Yuxi Yao and Rachit Agarwal, US-mobility agent specialists from China and India, as well as Anna Esaki-Smith, an international student enrollment expert based on the East Coast. Duolingo’s Michael Lynas joins the panel which will be chaired by The PIE’s Beth Kennedy.

Speakers:
  • Rachit Agarwal, AdmitKard, a US-India agent pivoting to the UK market
  • Anna Esaki-Smith, cofounder of research firm Education Rethink and US-based expert consultant on international student mobility
  • Michael Lynas, Duolingo English Test UK
  • Yuxi Yao, New Oriental Global Education and Training, China-US mobility specialist
  • Chair: Beth Kennedy, The PIE
