Value of Values
By Creative Plus Business
Your values are the bedrock of your creative business and practice.
They are based on your personal beliefs about what’s important and your expectations and preferences in the way you live your life and interact with others.
From a business perspective, your values represent your philosophy and approach to your profession and your craft and give your clients an insight into what you stand for and what’s important to you.
As a solo creative in your own business, your values will help to guide you to the kind of work and clients that support your principles and align with your ideology. As a larger business, your values can help steer your plans and your people in the right direction.
This FREE webinar will take you through a reflective and practical three-step process that can help you to identify your core values, see how they can guide and inform your business goals, and work toward turning your values into actions.
We’ll be looking at:
+ STEP ONE - Find and map your personal principles, beliefs, and values.
+ STEP TWO - Writing a Values Statement.
+ STEP THREE - Implementing your creative business values.
Part of our Evening Education Series!

Who are the Hosts?
KB Heylen has had a varied career spanning arts management, economic development and communications. They founded Platform Gallery, a successful commercial feminist art gallery in the Blue Mountains. Prior to that KB was Australia’s first Creative Industries Cluster Manager. In their own practice, KB is a producer, dancer and burlesque performer, as well as a writer and visual arts curator. They particularly love helping clients to face their fears and tackle their financial issues. KB has recently completed a PhD in Media Studies (Master of Research), and is Creative Plus Business’ Head of Strategy.
Kylie Burke’s first career was in media, and she held leadership roles in both private and public organisations focused on strategy, policy and governance. Kylie’s role as the Head of Governance and Policy at AFTRS heightened her interest in coaching and professional development opportunities in the creative industries, and in 2013 she established Red Bullet to provide executive coaching and workshops in leadership development and change management. She is passionate about bringing creativity and business practice together.
What’s Creative Plus Business?
We’re a social enterprise dedicated to educating creative people and arts organisations about business skills. We help through sharing practical knowledge in a fun and irreverent way, and everything we do is designed to help creatives to feel more confident and comfortable about the entrepreneurial aspects of their creative practice. We believe that a bit of naughtiness, tempered with a kind heart and a big dose of professionalism, is the key to helping creative people understand the boring basics of business.
