An introduction to a variety of different drum and percussion instruments, traditions, and rhythms.
 
Percussionist Dror Sinaiis a true force of nature, whose unique blend of musical and healing expertise, combined with his passion for travel and personal growth, has inspired and uplifted people from all walks of life.
 
In this class – Drums from the Middle East & North Africa ­– participants will first be introduced to a variety of drums, their construction, the materials used, and the connection between local resources to instruments. This will be followed by explanations and demonstrations of different rhythms, including 4/4 Egyptian maxum, 12/8 Moroccan chaabi, and 9/8 Turkish karsilama, featuring instruments such as the frame drum, riq, and darbuka.
