Speakers
Lexi Gervis, Director of Public Sector, Steady
Lexi Gervis, PhD is the Director of Public Sector and NGO Engagement at Steady, a platform designed to improve the earnings potential and income stability of its nearly 6 million members. At Steady, Lexi coordinates efforts with state and federal leaders on benefits access, leads the platform’s work on guaranteed income, and manages collaborations with think tanks and research organizations. Prior to turning to the private sector, Lexi received a PhD in sociology, focusing on benefits for non-standard workers, low-wage work, income volatility, and the institutional transmission of inequality. Her dissertation, “Portable Benefits: Building Protection and Power in the New Non-Standard Safety Net” investigated the burgeoning field around portable benefits, seeking to understand the implications of extant benefit models and portable benefit policy proposals for workers’ rights and worker power.
Stacey Rutland, Founder Income Movement
Stacey first landed in the classroom, then in user-experience product agencies, and eventually to the non-profit space. Her passion for economics and human-centered program design brought her to the basic income community where, in early 2019, she began to work with organizations across the basic income ecosystem. Stacey's focus on collaborative coalition-building and the fostering of a thriving grassroots movement for basic income led her to create Income Movement.
Brittany Christenson, Director of Partnerships, Aidkit
Brittany Christenson is the Director of Partnerships and Program Development at AidKit, where she helps nonprofits and government agencies leverage technology to launch scalable guaranteed income and direct cash programs. Prior to her work at AidKit, Brittany spent six years leading environmental and economic justice programs as the Executive Director of AdkAction. Brittany holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics and joins us from Northern New York State.
Conrad Shaw, Co-founder, Comingle
Conrad is a New York-based film and stage actor and screenwriter. He is a graduate of the two-year Meisner training program at the William Esper Studio in midtown Manhattan. He has built a reputation as a respected writer and speaker in the universal basic income (UBI) space, and is co-creator and producer of the docuseries, Bootstraps.
Khea Pollard, Executive Director, San Diego for Every Child
Khea Pollard is the Director of San Diego for Every Child. She has several years of experience fostering collaboration, facilitating dialogue, and implementing policy to make improvements in health, human service, and criminal justice systems. Prior to joining San Diego for Every Child, Pollard was a Justice Program Manager for the National Association of Counties, serving County governments across the United States. Her work focused on the intersection of behavioral health, criminal justice reform, and racial equity.

Erica Wright, Income Movement
Erica is the initiative manager of Income Movement and focuses primarily on our Pilot Community Engagement Program (PCEP). She has a masters in peace and justice from the University of San Diego with a focus on program design and evaluation and Human Rights Advocacy. She also holds a bachelors (honors) in psychology from Rollins College where she focused on social psychology, sociology and physiology.
