[4-30-21] “Hacking the Encryption Fallacy” - CISO Series Video Chat

By CISO Series

Please join us on Friday, April 30th, 2021 for “Hacking the Encryption Fallacy: An hour of critical thinking on where encryption fails and how to keep data protected continuously.”
Why can’t we secure our data? Encryption has been around for a long time, yet for some reason completely unencrypted data gets stolen all the time. What’s happening?
Find out by joining David Spark (@dspark), producer of CISO Series for this discussion with his guests:
  • Purandar Das, CEO, Sotero
  • Pat Dineen (@PatrickDineen), CIO, Nielsen
In preparation for our discussion, think about the following:
  • How have we historically used encryption?
  • What problems does encryption solve?
  • But once you start using encryption, what problems does that introduce?
  • How can having a data-first approach to security also bring about data privacy?
The event starts at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern. At the end of the hour [11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern] we'll switch gears into a series of impromptu 1-on-1 five-minute meetings where everyone will be randomly paired. Nothing to prepare, we’ll do the matching.
HUGE thanks to our sponsor Sotero
