[5-7-21] "Hacking Cloud Access" - CISO Series Video Chat

By CISO Series

Please join us on Friday, May 7th, 2021 for “Hacking Cloud Access: An hour of critical thinking about how managing permissions is complicating our ability to secure our environment.”
In today’s world where so much is virtualized, everyone has the capability to create compute (AKA “shadow IT"). With all employees having that power, movement of operations and workload is happening far quicker. The result is we have a huge explosion in access in the cloud as well and how that’s assigned. The net result of all this behavior is the big question of “What am I inadvertently exposing?”
Joining David Spark (@dspark), producer of CISO Series for this discussion will be:
  • Mike Raggo (@mikeraggo), cloud security expert, CloudKnox
  • Richard Rushing (@SecRich), CISO, Motorola Mobility
In preparation for our discussion, think about the following:
  • What permissions can you and can’t you control?
  • Is there any way to tell which permissions are higher risk?
  • What are the permissions you can control and how active are they being addressed?
  • How are permissions changing? Is it manual? Is there anything dynamic? Can automation be introduced?
It all starts at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern. At the end of the hour [11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern] we'll switch gears into a series of impromptu 1-on-1 five-minute meetings where everyone will be randomly paired. Nothing to prepare, we’ll do the matching.
HUGE thanks to our sponsor CloudKnox
