Stay In And Read Rhode Island
By Robin Kall
COVID-19-FRIENDLY READING INITIATIVE #StayinandReadRI !
In the spirit of community and being respectful of COVID-19 limitations, I have created a reading initiative that is inclusive of everyone. All proceeds from this event (including ticket sales, book sales, and community partner advertising) will go to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s COVID-19 relief efforts. Please make your donation directly to theRI Food Bank.
Author line-up includes:Anika Denise, A Girl Named Rosita (children), Kim Edge Ambler, Super Beagle (children); Melissa De La Cruz, Never After(middle grade); Kara Lee Corthron, Daughters of Jubilation (young adult); Mateo Askaripour, Black Buck(adults); and Amy Bruni, Life With the Afterlife (adults).
A Girl Named Rosita- February 17th 12 noon
Super Beagle - February 19th 11am eastern
Black Buck - March 2nd 7pm eastern
Life With The Afterlife- March 5th 7pm eastern
Daughters of Jubilation- March 9th 5pm eastern
Never After - March 10th 5pm eastern
I'll be interviewing each author during their individual digital events which will be hosted right here on Crowdcast. Participants are encouraged to read the books in advance, however, no prior reading is necessary and as always, there will be no spoilers! These are aimed at giving Rhode Islanders a book club experience like never before. They will have full access to each author and can participate in as many or as few events as they’d like. Entrance to this event requires a minimum $5 donation to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank but participants can borrow books from any library or purchase them from any store.
This event would not be possible without the help from our generous and involved community partners: Anchor & Hope Wine, Springline Coffee, Dave’s Marketplace, Wicked Tulips Flower Farm, Alayne White Spa, Dugan Custom Jewelers, Granny Squibbs, Buppy Pets, Core Financial Partners, and J. Molina Flynn Esq, River Horse Canine Training, and Marc Allen Fine Clothiers.
