Laura Wood is the winner of the Montegrappa Scholastic Prize for New Children’s Writing. Her first YA novel A Sky Painted Gold was shortlisted for the 2019 YA Book Prize, 2018 BAMB Readers’ Awards and the 2019 Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Awards. Her second YA novel, Under A Dancing Star, was hailed as ‘achingly romantic’ by the Observer. She is also the author of the critically acclaimed Vote for Effie (shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award) and the Poppy Pym series for younger readers.
Lucy Powrie, also known as @lucythereader, is a blogger and YouTuber from Wiltshire. She set up www.queenofcontemporary.com in 2012 and has since been named as one of the Guardian’s Top Ten Best Book Bloggers and dubbed the ‘Zoella of Books’ by The Times. Lucy’s debut novel, the first in The Paper & Hearts Society trilogy, was published in June 2019 by Hachette Children’s, and was followed up with the much sort-after sequel The Paper & Hearts Society: Read with Pride in May 2020. The third and final book in the series will be published in 2021.
