A Special Jazz Fest Live – We’ve decided to extend the show to a double billing to include vocalist Ginger Commodore in addition to existing act, Joan Hutton and her band all to bring you a special night of music with two great Twin Cities bands LIVE from the Dakota in downtown Minneapolis.” .
Joan Hutton is a Minneapolis-based performer, music educator and composer, originally from Toronto, Canada. In 2017 she launched the Joan Hutton Jazz Project to perform her original jazz compositions and has since become a regular on the Twin Cities jazz scene. Joan and fellow multi-woodwind player David Milne use various combinations of woodwinds, ranging from flute to saxophones to bass clarinet, to bring her music to life in a wide palette of moods and colors.

Ginger Commodore is a Midwest music scene veteran – she began her career performing as a long-time member of the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness, then touring across the United States, Europe and Japan with local jazz ensemble Moore By Four. Ginger appears regularly at the Dakota, Crooners and The Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. She also has joined the lineup several times for the Twin Cities Jazz Festival.
