Following an open call for event proposals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic artists and writers in February 2020, we are delighted to present six events as part of our Compass strand.
“A captivating act of cultural diplomacy.” Concert Review London
Enjoy a unique sonic journey across the landscape of contemporary Ukrainian poetry, inspired by the writing of Oleh Lysheha, Marianna Kijanowska, Liubov Iakymchuk, Yurii Andrukhovych, Iryna Starovoyt, Juri Izdryk, Halyna Kruk, Serhiy Zhadan and Kateryna Babkina. In new settings for voice and citera, Telling Sounds explores the relationship between music and language.
A Dublin-based performer, composer and curator originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Zdorovetska works internationally as a solo artist and collaborator, drawing on a broad range of influences including jazz, classical, folk and improvised music. She is a founder of UICP (Ukrainian-Irish Cultural Platform) and co-curator of Phonica, an experimental music and poetry series in Dublin.
We are inviting donations for this event. 100% of proceeds will go directly to the writer(s) / artist(s).
