Dale Squires, an economist, will talk about how international organisations can share benefits with fairness, equity, and efficiency, focusing upon deep-seabed mining royalties.

Dale Squires, a marine economist, works on global ocean issues with international organisations, NGOs, industries, nations, and scientists. He has worked with the International Seabed Authority on sharing royalties from deep-seabed mining, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and international fishing organisations on management and conservation of high-seas fisheries, and the International Whaling Commission on cetacean bycatch in fishing industries.

He is the architect of both national and international resource management plans and serves on the United States Department of State delegations to international treaty negotiations and international fishing organisations. He also teaches at the University of California San Diego.
