Our Fractured Fables are improvised comedy puppet shows for all ages, with live musical accompaniment by Andy Laties, and hosted by Numi the Blue Monkey.  Starting with traditional storybook tales such as Little Red Riding Hood or Jack and the Beanstalk, each performance uniquely explores themes like gender roles, family, friendship, appearance, and sharing through a child-friendly, yet contemporary lens. The results are profoundly engaging, and the children in the audience are encouraged to participate in identifying solutions to the problems facing the characters, investing classic tropes with empowering and compassionate narrative choices. Fractured Fables builds language, empathy and social skills, and nurtures independent thinking and emotional intelligence.  Our purpose is to provide children ages 4-11 with the tools to take charge of their own emotional realities, and to compensate for unhealthy self-image projections due to inherent societal expectations based in colonialism and patriarchy.
