The Future of US Policy Toward Palestine
By Al-Shabaka
**Please note that Daylight Savings Time ends in the US on November 1st. **
Over the past four years, the Trump administration has enacted major changes to US policy vis-à-vis Palestine. With the imminent US presidential elections, what possibilities lie ahead for the US's relationship to Palestine, and what role can Palestinians play in influencing the upcoming US administration's policies that would directly impact their lives?
Al-Shabaka analysts Hatem Bazian and Nadia Hijab join host Nur Arafeh to weigh in on these questions and more in our next policy lab.
Hatem Bazian is a co-founder and Professor of Islamic Law and Theology at Zaytuna College as well as a lecturer in the Departments of Near Eastern and Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Nadia Hijab is co-founder and board president of Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network. She served as its Executive Director between 2011 and March 2018.
Nur Arafeh is conducting her PhD in Economic Development at the University of Oxford. She previously served as Al-Shabaka's Palestine Policy Fellow from 2015 - 2017.
About the Policy Lab Program: Al-Shabaka's Policy Lab Program is an online live-stream space where audiences can engage directly with expert analysts from our nearly 200-member network as they craft policies and strategies related to Palestine. The labs are free and open for public participation, inviting viewers to join in on policy discussions.
Note: This discussion will take place in English. Our policy labs are supported through the generosity of donors. They are free to attend, though we accept contributions on a sliding scale upon registration to help sustain the program.
The opinions of individual members of Al-Shabaka’s policy network do not necessarily reflect the views of the organization as a whole.
