Identifying the right training in emerging technologies for your business

By Installer & elemental

Keeping up with legislation, policy and new technology changes is time consuming, potentially confusing and at times challenging for a business.
One such challenge is ensuring you have the knowledge and skills to diversify and carry out work in these new areas or meet the competence requirements for scheme recognition. In this session, we will discuss some of the points to consider, including -
  • Who – selecting the right people in your team to undertake training, their previous skills and experience and their role in the new work areas.
  • What – look at the different responsibilities, the job functions and mapping them to the courses available, looking at the breadth and depth of content.
  • Where – after looking at who is undertaking training and what they need to do, it is important to consider where the course is delivered. Colleges and training centres are generally able to provide broad unbiased knowledge, manufacturers can provide excellent product specific courses.
  • When – looking at the business plan, when do you need to access training to prepare for undertaking the new work, do you need to meet client commitments, legislation deadlines or other influences on time.
