Richard Powers' The Overstory
By TPL Programs
Richard Powers’ novel, "The Overstory" (2018) traces the lives of multiple generations of humans and trees. Taking a long view of planetary history, Powers’ book proposes that the lived experience of trees holds the key to the survival of the natural world and, by extension, the survival of human life itself. Presented by Maria Ionita, Toronto Metropolitan University.
This event is part of Toronto Public Library's Great Books Lecture Series, made possible through a gift from the Ann Thoburn Fund.
