“Dark Fantasy ... But Make it Queer” with Francesca May & Tara Sim
By Orbit LIVE!
Do you enjoy fantasy filled with forbidden blood, shadow, and bone magic but that also has a heathy helping of queer longing and romance? Join authors Francesca May and Tara Sim as they discuss queer dark fantasy. Plus, they'll also be taking your questions throughout the event.
Francesca May [she/her] is the author of Wild and Wicked Things, a queer historical fantasy set in the 1920s and is about a young woman who gets swept into a glittering world filled with illicit magic, romance, blood debts, and murder. By day, Francesca is a bookseller at Waterstones in England. By night, she writes novels about gothic mansions, witchcraft, and queer love.
Tara Sim [she/her] is the author of The City of Dusk, a dark epic fantasy with plenty of queer characters and is about the heirs for four noble houses—each gifted with a divine power—who must form a tenuous alliance to save their realm. Tara is the author of several YA fantasy books, including Scavenge the Stars andTimekeeper. The City of Dusk is her first adult fantasy.
