McCartney
By Fab Four Master Class
While the Let It Be album wouldn’t see the light of day for a few more weeks yet, a solo Beatles album was released in April of 1970 just on the heels of the band’s public breakup announcement…
McCartney was produced largely in secrecy, with Paul doing a majority of the recording and mixing himself on home studio equipment. Along with a few contributions from his wife Linda, Paul performed the entire album alone through the use of overdubs, giving McCartney an especially homespun feel – and in contrast to the “polished” production of recent Beatles albums such as Abbey Road.
Join renowned Beatles historian and author Kenneth Womack and producer, composer and Deconstructing the Beatles series creator Scott Freiman as they kick off 2022 with the 1st session in our “Solo Years” series of Fab Four Master Classes, McCartney, on Thursday, January 20th, 2022 at 8 pm ET.
Each presentation runs approximately 90 minutes, followed by Q&A.
