Where do leading presidential candidates stand, and what role does civil society play in influencing shifts in political discourse and policy positions?

Join Al-Shabaka analysts Halah Ahmad and Zaha Hassan for our next policy lab, hosted by Nur Arafeh, on Super Tuesday as they weigh in on these questions and more.

Halah Ahmad is Al-Shabaka’s U.S. Policy Fellow. She completed her Master’s in Public Policy at Cambridge University as the Lionel de Jersey Harvard Scholar at Emmanuel College. Her research covers topics of equitable development, including segregation, displacement, refugee integration and resettlement, housing, and economic development, among others.

Zaha Hassan is a human rights lawyer and visiting fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Her research focuses on Palestine-Israel peace, the use of international legal mechanisms by political movements, and U.S. foreign policy in the region. She previously served as coordinator and senior legal advisor to the Palestinian negotiating team during Palestine’s bid for UN membership from 2010-2012.

Nur Arafeh is a Rhodes Scholar, doing her PhD in Economic Development at the University of Oxford. She previously served as Al-Shabaka's Palestine Policy Fellow from 2015 - 2017, as an Associate Researcher at the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS), and as a Visiting Lecturer of Economics at Al-Quds Bard College.
