Released in December 1970 by Apple Records, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band was the debut solo studio album by Lennon (following previous experimental releases with Yoko Ono and a 1969 live album of the Plastic Ono Band). Easily one of his most personal works, the songs on the album are raw in production, with lyrics heavily influenced by Lennon's time in Primal Scream Therapy. Tracks such as “Mother,” “God,” “Isolation” and “Look at Me” reflect his struggles with abandonment and religious issues.
