Impact Investor Challenge: How to Approach Raising Capital for Your Purpose-Driven Business in 2021
By Spring
Besides the dollar investment, what other fundamental characteristics should you look for when raising early-stage capital? Do you know how to communicate your company's impact to investors?
Socially and environmentally motivated entrepreneurs looking to raise a preliminary round of funding for their business can often fixate too heavily on the dollar investment willing to be made—without considering what other value there is to be gained. They are also frequently unsure of how to communicate their impact and the value that it brings to the greater ecosystem.
In this online session, the Spring team will begin by walking you through impact investing and the impact investing landscape in British Columbia.
You will also hear from purpose-driven entrepreneurs who have participated in our Impact Investor Challenge Program, and have the opportunity to ask questions about their journey, experience, insights, and next steps.
Finally, you’ll find out how you too can get involved in raising a round from the impact investing community by learning key details about the program.
This session is for you if:
- You're the founder of an impact venture and are looking to raise a preliminary round of investment
- You're not sure if your venture can be considered "impact" but you want to develop in this direction
- You are looking for guidance on quantifying and crystallizing your company's impact
- You want to learn more about fundraising from investors but aren't sure where to begin
- You're curious to learn more about the Canadian impact and startup ecosystem
