The Witch's Heart: Genevieve Gornichec
By The Mercantile Library
Author Genevieve Gornichec takes us on a Nordic journey in her debut novel, The Witch’s Heart.
The Witch’s Heart reimagines Norse mythology in this tale of a banished witch falling in love with the legendary trickster Loki. From the most ancient of stories this novel forges a story of love, loss, and hope for the modern age.
Gornichec joins Jasmine Griffin in conversation about this moving, subversive debut novel
Genevieve Gornichec earned her degree in history from The Ohio State University, but she got as close to majoring in Vikings as she possibly could, and her study of the Norse myths and Icelandic sagas became her writing inspiration. She lives in Cleveland, Ohio. The Witch's Heart is her debut novel.
Jasmine Griffin is a black queer writer and an avid reader. Currently Jasmine serves as both the Membership Coordinator at the Mercantile Library and the Features Editor for Carve Magazine. Jasmine is presently at work on her first novel. A Cincinnati native, she resides in Amelia, Ohio with her familiars, Tabby cats, Honey and Oliver.
