Accessing Arts Grants with the Toronto Arts Council (TAC)
By TPL Programs
Su-Ying Lee, TPL's 2022 Arts Mentor in Residence will moderate a discussion panel featuring Toronto Arts Council (TAC) staff. Find out how you can benefit from TAC grants.
Panelists include:
- Timaj Garad is a diasporic Ethiopian-Canadian multi-disciplinary storyteller, arts educator, and creative consultant. Her art is auto-biographical, working at the intersections of a Black Muslim woman challenging injustice, unearthing truths, and healing. As an award-winning artist and poet, Timaj Garad has performed at over 300 events across the country and facilitated several original arts-based workshops.
- Peter Kingstone is a Toronto-based visual and media artist, working primarily in video and photography. As an independent artist, Peter’s installation pieces have been shown across Canada and internationally.
- Liza Mattimore, is a Strategic Programs Manager, Newcomer and Refugee Artist Mentorship and has a long relationship with Toronto Arts Council (TAC) as a grant applicant.
Presented by Su-Ying Lee(she/her), an independent curator who has worked in institutions as Assistant Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA), Curator in Residence at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, and Assistant Curator at the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
