Pandemic Spotlight: Canadian Doctors at the Front of the COVID-19 Fight with Author Ian Hanomansing
By TPL Programs
In the last year, many doctors volunteered their time and offered their expertise in hundreds of media interviews, providing calm, clear and independent analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
CBC journalist Ian Hanomansing profiles Canadian infectious disease doctors who stepped up to guide the nation through its worst medical crisis in a century in the book Pandemic Spotlight: Canadian Doctors at the Front of the COVID-19 Fight.
In the book, the doctors discuss the moment the pandemic became very real to them, explain the sense of duty they felt stepping into the media, even as public anxiety and skepticism sometimes turned into hostility, all while dealing with their own personal concerns about the worsening pandemic and their busy medical practices.
Join in this Live & Online program with Ian who will be in conversation with Birgit Umaigba, a Registered Nurse in Toronto and a Clinical Course Director in the Faculty of Health at York University, Trent University and Centennial College.
This program will be recorded and available for replay at the same link.
