Addressing Climate Change: Social and Technological Solutions
By TPLCulture
Women4Climate Toronto presents a conversation on Social and Technological Solutions to Climate Change.
When we think of solutions to address climate change, we almost always think of technology first and while technology has a valuable role to play, so do socially-driven ideas.
The City of Toronto, in partnership with C40 cities, has launched the Women4Climate Toronto Mentorship Programme to support the next generation of female climate leaders. Throughout the programme, for which the call for applications is open until July 15th 2020, 12 participants will be paired with a senior professional in their field and take part in networking events and knowledge labs.
Following the mentorship programme, a pitch competition will award the best female-led climate idea with $20K towards professional and idea development.
It is only by pursuing both socially-driven and technology-based solutions that we can fully address Toronto's climate issues and work to create a healthier, more sustainable and resilient future.
Presented locally by RBC and supported by EY. Panel supported by the Toronto Public Library.
With:
Anjum Sultana, Board Director, Toronto Environmental Alliance and Founder of Millennial Womxn in Policy
Deeksha Shetty, Microbiology Lead, Genecis
Jennifer McKelvie, Toronto City Councillor and the Mayor's Environment & Resilience Champion
