Katie Darr is a science communicator, transdisciplinary social scientist, and all-around aquatic enthusiast. Growing up 15-minutes from the ocean on Long Island, Katie has always felt a call to water. Katie earned an M.S. in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University where she created an exhibit to educate Oregonians about and connect them to the deep sea. Following graduate school, Katie completed a 2020 Knauss Fellowship with NOAA’s Marine Protected Areas Center. She continues to work to better understand and communicate the connections between people’s lives and aquatic environments.

Nick Baskerville tells stories and jokes in the DC, MD, and VA area. He’s been featured on The Moth, The Story Collider, Better Said Than Done, and others. Nick is a frequent host for Better Said Than Done and Armed Service Art Performance (ASAP) storytelling shows both online and in-person. In addition to that, Nick is one of the four members of Clean AF Comedy that streams comedy weekly on Fridays at 6 pm EST on Facebook and YouTube. Dr. Tanya Harrison is a geoscientist who has worked in science and mission operations on multiple NASA Mars missions over the past 13 years, including the Opportunity, Curiosity, and Perseverance rovers, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. She currently works closer to home as the Director of Science Strategy for the federal arm of the Earth observing satellite company Planet Labs. Tanya holds a Ph.D. in Geology with a Specialization in Planetary Science and Exploration from the University of Western Ontario, a Masters in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Wesleyan University, and a B.Sc. in Astronomy and Physics from the University of Washington. She is also an advocate for increased accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities in STEM.
