You're the One that I Want - Launch Party

By Scholastic

Grease is the word... join us for the virtual launch party for Simon James Green's YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT. Simon will be in conversation with fellow YA author George Lester all about the joy of theatre and writing outrageously funny books about LGBTQ+ teens.
In the spirit of Grease, channel your inner Rydell High T-Bird or Pink Lady and tune in for an evening of guaranteed laughter.
Book sales will be organised by Queer Lit.
Simon James Green is the world’s leading authority on awkward teenage boys*, mainly because he was one. He has written a number of desperately awkward young adult novels, including Noah Can’t Even (longlisted for the Branford Boase); Noah Could Never (longlisted for nothing, despite it being a work of comic genius*); Alex in Wonderland (nominated for the Carnegie medal); andHeartbreak Boys (picked by Attitude magazine and Gay’s the Word bookshop as one of the best LGBT novels of the year). 2020 also saw publication of Simon’s debut picture book, Llama Glamarama, illustrated by Garry Parsons, and his first middle-grade book, Life of Riley: Beginner’s Luck – so if dancing llamas or cursed ten-year-old boys are your thing, check them out.
